Another little bit of random interesting Opal news that we have come across is the following stories reported on over at AnnArbor.com. First this story reported about a safe that having been untouched in years, after finding two gold bracelets underneath it, the building owner thought that it would be worth getting it broken into to find what precious items were hidden inside. After six men with power tools and a semi-truck managed to get the massive safe, which weighed 8,500 pounds, open the treasure hunt produced a bunch of paper work and two little Opals worth $190 USD & $250. You can read more about it and see some pictures of the safe & opals here. So while it wasn't the jackpot they were hoping for they managed to get two beautiful Opals out of it! Could have been worse it might have been some other gemstone... :)
